RingCut – Privacy Policy & Support

Last updated: 2026-09-24

RingCut is an iPhone app that trims an audio file you choose to a clip of up to 30 seconds, with optional fade in and fade out, and saves it so you can set it as your ringtone with the Files app's "Use as Ringtone" action (iOS 26 or later).

Where your data lives

The audio files you pick are read only on your phone. The trimmed ringtone is saved in the app's own folder (Files › On My iPhone › RingCut). Nothing is uploaded. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. Deleting the app deletes its files.

What we do not do

We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There is no tracking of any kind.

Your music

Use audio you own or have the right to use. Songs protected by DRM, such as Apple Music downloads, cannot be opened.

How do I set the ringtone? Tap Set as Ringtone, then Open in Files. In Files tap the Share button, then Use as Ringtone. The tone appears in Settings › Sounds & Haptics › Ringtone.

"Duplicate ringtone"? A tone with that name is already installed. Change the Ringtone name in the app and try again.

A song won't open? It is probably DRM-protected. Use a file you own, such as an MP3, M4A or WAV in Files.
